Test 1, multiple choice, taken at DMV only: You must pass the written test at the DMV. After passing the written test you will receive a restricted license, M, making it legal for you to drive any motorcycle. The DMV may require you to retake a portion of the car written test.
Test 2, on-bike: You must pass the on-bike test either at the DMV, or at the DMV 15 hour course. If you pass the on-bike test at the DMV, you will leave with your unrestricted, M1, motorcycle license. If you pass the on-bike test at the DMV 15 hour course, that school will give you a DL389 certificate as proof you passed the on-bike test. You must then go to the DMV and file with them the DL389 certificate as proof you passed the on-bike test. Then the DMV will give you the M1 unrestricted motorcycle license.

Since none of our exercises involve riding passengers, or riding at night, or at high speeds, we do not test or certify you for your unrestricted license.
Our training is designed to help beginners lower risk during the learner’s time.
