continue2ride Program

Note that the begin2ride program is Sessions 1, 2, and 3, and the continue2ride program is Sessions 4, 5, and 6.

Sessions 5 and 6 include street riding so you must have completed your written test at the DMV and have your motorcycle learners permit to attend Sessions 5 and 6. We recommend you schedule your DMV written test appointment now .   Schedule Written Test Appointment since the appointment will be several weeks from now. Note that an appointment is not required at the DMV, it just shortens your wait time while at the DMV.

    Fun with Motorcycles!.

Again, for Session 4 you do not need any type of license. Session 5 and 6 include street riding so you must have your motorcyle learner's permit. Also, due to legal constraints, you must be over 21 years of age. However, if you are under 21 years old, we may provide you a 50cc scooter.

These continue2ride practice sessions are for practicing applied street skills that you will use on every ride. This practice is on 250cc motorcycles and is designed to help you transition to street riding.

The prerequisite for the continue2ride sessions are the skills practiced in the begin2ride sessions 1, 2, and 3, or equivalent. If you are not a begin2ride graduate, but you have ridden recently, we will have you ride begin2ride Session 1. This is so the instructor may qualify you for attending the continue2ride Street Skills practice session 4 directly.

In the continue2ride session 4, we practice and the instructor will evaluate all the basic skills in the first half of the session. If the instructor determines that you cannot continue past the evaluation portion, you will be refunded the second half tuition. The instructor will also give you a recommendation for an earlier practice session that would be appropriate for the skills you need to practice.

The tuition is $98 per session.

    Enjoy learning to ride!.

SESSION 4: Street Skills  continue2ride Student Booklet

This session puts the reality into what it takes to manage your ride on the street! Can you use your signals while cornering and shifting? We will practice that! If you begin to run out of fuel, we practice what to do. Can you maintain your space cushion in crossing traffic? We practice that too! Do you know the difference between a pre-ride check and motorcycle maintenance? We will show you!

We recommend you have completed the written test at the DMV for your learners permit before riding this Session 4, however, you may attend session 4 before you get your learners permit.

SESSION 5: More Street Skills

Motorcycle Endorsement M or M1 required! We will continue to add street skills such as riding hills, swerving, maximum braking, and parking.

SESSION 6: Riding on the Street

Motorcycle Endorsement M or M1 required! Self Study. You ride the motorcycle on the street.

Note that the begin2ride program is Sessions 1, 2, and 3, and the continue2ride program is Sessions 4, 5, and 6.
